  • Progressive side wagers: Games such as Caribbean Stud Poker commonly have one of these. You typically put a wager ($1 is the usual amount) to attempt to win a bonus jackpot that could be upwards of twenty-five thousand dollars. Though huge jackpots like these are particularly appealing, they’re also particularly hard to win. You would have to get a Royal Flush in order to hit this bet. Also, imagine this- you wager 20 hands and make the side bet every time. That’s 20 dollars you could have used towards the real game bet in place of a sucker wager. Picture what you could have been able to win at a wager with greater odds employing that twenty dollars.
  • Single number wagers in Roulette: This is completely true for American Roulette. The reason? American Roulette has two zeroes on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has just one. This shifts the overall house advantage from 2percent with one zero wheel to a whopping 5.26% in American. The single number wager has just a one in thirty eight chance of winning, which are very big odds indeed. Bet on even-odd or black-red bets alternately which have a much smaller house edge.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and anyway you gamble on it, the house edge can be a huge twenty-five percent. No, that is not a typo. Due to the huge set of numbers you have to choose, it isn’t advisable to gamble on Keno very much. A couple of times for fun, maybe. But do not waste all your cash on it or you will immediately discover yourself broke.
